Dream 54

It began as sort of a video game, which was very cinematic and story driven. Primarily, I was in the point of view of the protagonist, an Asian guy in his late 20's/early 30's. The back story is that people around the world in various cities volunteered to become subjects in a program where they were administered a serum over a course of time which gave them improved traits, but also some more unique abilities. What was until recently undisclosed to all the subjects was that they would all be separated for testing and observation, and out of the entire group of roughly 100, only one would be chosen to persist, and the rest would be eliminated. The one that is chosen would be given a megadose of the serum to drive their abilities to new levels making them extremely powerful. In this dream, the group that the protagonist was in found out that all but one of them were going to be killed, so in retaliation they took over the facility and locked themselves in. The retaliation seems to be going fine, until a mysterious machine in the lab turns on, which has four life pods attached. Four of the subjects had themselves conspired to steal the megaserum and undergo the process. Everyone knew that it was going to get violent so they began panicking and running for their lives. The protagonist did the same. I then saw a omniscient point of view showing the procedure completing and the four antagonists emerging from their pods. It was unclear at that point who they were or their powers, but the focus was placed on one subject because he turned into a massive berserker, running around and pulverizing everyone he came across. There was a brief point of view of a subject who didn't have enough time to run away and tried to hide in a corner and hope that the berserker would not see him, but unfortunately for him he was spotted and the berserker just ran at him and crushing him against the wall. The point of view then returned to the protagonist who was now being chased by the berserker, who was closing in on him. He runs into a classroom where everyone else went to for safety. As the door began to close the protagonist jumped through and the door shut behind him and the berserker ran into the door, barricading him out. You could hear people worrying about what they're supposed to do now. Meanwhile the protagonist is collecting serum vials from shelves around the room (kind of like in a game where you collect health or something). A voice goes on the intercomm, and it is the fifth, and main protagonist. It is the man in charge of the entire experiment. He warns everyone that they are trapped and that there is no way out that the best thing to do now is surrender. The protagonist is now walking around into the back halls behind the classroom where you can see that this is all taking place on a floor near the top of an office building. The protagonist is at a balcony overlook, which every floor has, going all the way to the bottom. He can see a balcony overlook for a restaurant/cafe a few stories higher and across the gap. It is actually the top floor of the entire building, with an open design. He begins to parkour across, using various architectural features for support, such as small embedded spots in the walls where various decorative plants are placed. He manages to get to the balcony of the restaurant/cafe and slowly sneaks through the washroom area (there are no doors anywhere, considering the open design) and inside the washroom an older Asian gentleman walks in and is shocked to see the protagonist who is dressed in a subjects uniform. The protagonist hushes him and tells him to go stand by the balcony. A latino woman then walks into the washroom, and also looks surprised to see the protagonist. However, something about her triggers something in the protagonist and he grabs her as she tries to walk away. She looks at him and laughs, and transforms back into her real self. She is one of the four antagonist, and her ability is to shapeshift into other people. She begins to taunt him and explain to him that he wasn't going to succeed. The protagonist begins to have strange hallucinations and she explains that he is succumbing to the powers of one of the other antagonists, which is to make him see negative elements of his past around him. He sees his deceased father on the escalator going up to the balcony level of the restaurant. He runs to go see him, but then he also sees his former employer, and realizes these are all moments he has experienced. He is seeing the time when his career was ruined as a result of being set up in a drug scandal, and his former employer is laying him off and scolding him.

And then I woke up.
